Prosperity

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou may prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospers – 3 John 1:2

We live in a society where everyone wants to prosper. Unfortunately, most of them view prosperity as accumulating wealth and ignore the other important aspects of life. It is so sad that all our pastors spend more time talking about prosperity because it seems to be the kind of messages that people want to hear. Everybody wants to get rich and live a luxurious lifestyle.

The reality is that we must not only focus on the physical aspect of prosperity. We need to focus on both the physical and spiritual. I also disagree with people who think that Christians should not talk about being prosperous. The bible says that we are a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and God’s special possession. This means that we are not limited to what we should be on this earth. At the same token, we must make sure that we are prosperous, spiritually.

It is God’s desire that His children prosper in all aspects of life. God wants us to prosper because it will bring glory to His name. God’s prosperity is divided into two folds; Spiritual and Physical. Prospering in one of these without the other is a nightmare. Full prosperity includes success in health, finance, family, career, as well as maintaining that awesome relationship with God. Allowing Him to lead and direct your life.

The above scripture says that we must prosper in health and even as our souls prosper. Our souls are the most important part of our lives. Our physical body will fade away, and we will die one day, but our souls will live forever. So, it is very important that our souls prosper. This can only be done by confessing our sins, receiving Christ as our personal savior and making sure that we are walking and growing daily with the Lord.

The Diplomatic Bible Study: ”Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.  Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love” 1 John 4:7-8
