In an effort to promote sports in Liberia , a non division football organization, Atlantic Silverbacks-based in the USA has pledged suport to its sister organization Silverbacks- Liberia to provide training for kids who have interest in the football profession.

According to the Secretary General of Silverbacks-Liberia, Victor Yekeh, the CEO, the organization’s aim is to see young people actualizing their dreams in relation to their future professional lives.

He made the statement over the weekend at the 5th anniversary celebration held on the old Road, where he explained that nnothing will minimize his plan to train kids who are interested in football. This is part of activities scheduled for the trainings to allow young people to pursue their sporting lives.

The celebrations started with a four-team tournament among players of the club which was divided into groups; namely U-13, U-14 and U-15 amongs others.

The sporting organization came to being when school going kids (children) became very passionate about playing street football and community games by themselves after school hours without direction especially when they could not even afford jerseys, footballs and football boots.

As a mean of preparing talented Liberian kids who are desiring to become professional football players, the group observed these kids for a period of time and noticed their love for the game was very high. This how it organized a team for them, referring to them as under 13 (U-13) under the umbrella of Silverbacks-Liberia.

It is against this back drop that the General Manager of Atlanta Silverbacks-USA; Mr. Phoday Dolleh communicated to the Liberia based partner to organize a program in perfecting the talent of the kids in sports. Phoday Dolleh is a Liberian football consultant and owner of the Atlanta-Silverbacks Sports based in the USA.

Mr. Dolleh has over 20 years of coaching experience from youth to adults. He holds a National B license, US national youth license, and a Dutch national youth license, among others.
