In Tyron Brown Murder Case-One suspect arrested, admits to committing the act

The Liberian National Police has arrested a man in connection with the killing of a young Liberian broadcast Journalist, Tyron Brown. Tyron Browne, a videographer working with Super FM/TV in Monrovia was killed last Monday and eyewitnesses said his body dumped from a black jeep around 3 AM near a clinic in the Monrovia suburb of Duport Road, with all his personal belongings still on him. The station is owned by Liberian businessman and politician George Kailondo, a member of the opposition Unity Party (UP).

Addressing Journalists on Friday, Police Spokesman, Moses Carter, said suspect Jonathan Williams, who was arrested through a special police operation, told investigators that he mistaken the journalist for an armed robber.

Earlier this week, a former CDC Executive, former lawmaker and one-time Chief of Protocol in the past government, Rufus Neufville accused the current government of having a hand in the killing of the Journalist. Mr. Neufville told a news conference that the late Journalist (Browne) had a damaging video recording of some elements in the current CDC government, but officials dismissed the claim.

Among other things, Jonathan Williams, the suspected killer of Journalist Browne told the Police: that “on Sunday at about 9:00pm, I was home and we heard a knocked on our door. My two female nieces went to the door and saw this man standing there. They asked him what he was looking for and he told them to just open the door. The girls refused and later came to tell me. I then went to the door with a knife and saw the young guy who I later asked what was he doing at my house? Minutes later, we got into confusion and I stabbed him.”

Despite his (Williams) admittance to the crime, some analysts say the account given by the suspect has raised more questions than answers. Journalist Tyron Browne, a father of a little girl, was a member of the Redeemed Christian Church, located at the Du-port junction, in Paynesville.

Meanwhile, police interrogation of suspect Williams according to the LNP continues.
