Frontier Newspaper & LiberianTimes Magazine Brochure

The Frontier Newspaper and the LiberianTimes Magazine are owned, operated and published by the Konewa Group of Investments, Inc. The Konewa Group of Investments (KGI) Inc. was incorporated on 30 March 2015 at the Liberian Business Registry.

The Frontier and LiberianTimes bring to fruition one of the objectives of the Investment Group: ‘to operate printing houses and publish newspapers, magazines, journals and other media products’. In furtherance of this objective, KGI, Inc. registered and paid the relevant taxes to publish the Frontier newspaper and LiberianTimes magazine.

The Magazine is a quarterly publication while the Frontiernewspaperis a daily publication. An official business registration with tax payment flag receipt for the publication was issued on 3 April 2015. On 2 September 2015, the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism (MICAT)granted the LiberianTimes an official permit to publish annually. The Frontier newspaper was granted permit in January 2016, and MICAT officially certificated the paper in January 2017.We renew thesedocuments annually in line with the laws of Liberia.

The mission of the Frontier newspaper and LiberianTimes is to engage in evidence based research, reporting and publication. Their vision is to groom new entrepreneurs through a credible, successful and world-renowned media conglomerate.

The goal of the magazine and newspaper is to operate a national, Pan-African and world class magazine and newspaper that focus on developmental (economic, environmental and social), gender, human rights, political, religious and entertainment issues.

The current management of the Liberian Times comprises the editorial staff, the Board of Directors of the Konewa Group, and its Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The Board of Directors is not more than five persons nor less than three persons. It is sensitive. The Managing Editor and Business Manager are non-permanent members of the Board of Directors.

During the business registration, 100% shares were apportioned in the Articles of Incorporation of KGI. The incorporator has 50% share. This means 50% of the shares are outstanding in this business line of the Konewa Group. Each share in the Frontier and LiberianTimes is sold for Two Hundred United States Dollars ($200.US) for Liberian nationals, and five hundred United States dollars ($500.US) for internationals. As the business grows and prospers, the cost per share may increase, but not decrease. This decision will be based on the shape of growth, and consensus among shareholders.

The business cycle for the LiberianTimes is 12 months. All shareholders or their designated representatives will meet quarterly (every three months) to review the trend of the business. At the end of the second half of the business cycle, shareholders will converge to divide the dividends accrued over the year, and recommit their continuous participation in the business.

The daily operation of the business is being managed by the Editorial Tam in close consultation with KGI, Inc. CEO. The Board meets quarterly and reports to Shareholder(s) on an annual basis.

The Management of the newspaper and magazine is presently recruiting county reporters from the 15 counties of Liberia, and continental regional reporters from Southern, Western, Eastern and Northern Africa regions. It is also recruiting reporters from other continents.
